Ramadan Iftar Dinner Brings Communities Together in Faith and Solidarity

On March 9, 2025, the Atlantic Institute Central Florida and St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church hosted a remarkable Ramadan Iftar Dinner in Winter Park, uniting 120 attendees from Christian and Muslim communities in a shared celebration of faith and friendship.

With this year’s overlap of Ramadan and Lent, the evening offered a unique opportunity for interfaith dialogue and understanding. Guests enjoyed a delicious meal, heartfelt speeches, and moments of reflection that highlighted shared values of compassion and connection.

Meghan Collins, coordinator of the Peace and Justice Ministry, expressed the event’s significance, calling it “an opportunity to develop a sense of friendship and solidarity.” Mustafa Yucekaya, executive director of the Atlantic Institute Central Florida, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the joy and deeper awareness that arise from sharing a meal during these sacred seasons.

The event underscored the mission of both hosts to promote peace, respect, and harmony across diverse communities. By fostering dialogue and mutual appreciation, the Iftar Dinner left attendees inspired and hopeful for continued collaboration and unity.
